A client called me recently and wanted to know how to single herself out for a promotion opportunity this year.

She saw far too many candidates and only a few making it through the gates to the “next level.” What would get her there, get her promoted,  and how could she position herself advantageously?

Those crazy managers! Not.

 

You might be surprised to learn that raises and promotions aren’t impetuous decisions made by managers when review time comes around. In fact, they’re planned months in advance.

Smart employees know how to create a plan, communicate with the manager, and create milestones for getting from “here” to “raise and promoted.”

.

Don’t make the mistake of thinking you can negotiate a promotion while your boss is telling you what your raise is. It just doesn’t work that way.
