The holidays.
.
So how do you weigh in on them?
.
Love everything about them?
.
Or do you dread the incapacitating busyness of it – so much you’re just glad when they’re over?
.
I’m kind of “both/and” about it.
.
I love the sense of quiet and anticipation the season brings.
.
And I long ago realized it was so much freaking work, I actually dreaded the whole thing. I’ve mellowed a bit since then.
.
On top of that, I had a job once wherein the busiest time of year was the last 2 weeks of December, and the first part of January.
.
Talk about killing the holiday joy.
..
If you can relate, it’s not just you. Research shows work stresses us out most during the holidays. (I know!) That is, we worry about work encroaching too much on our holiday time.
.
Then we debate whether or not we’ll be able to take time off to enjoy.
.
I’m here to tell you: ENJOY.
.
You will never look back at any holiday season and think, “Gee, I wish I would not have taken that time off in December.” Guaranteed.
.
Life is way too short. Stay in the moment. Focus on what is right here, right now, and what’s important to you. You will never regret that.
.
But if you insist on letting work ruin your holidays, then this week’s TheMuse.com column is for you.
.
Go here to get your wisdom. And breathe the season in.
